The industry has traditionally measured a diamond's weight in carats (1 carat equaling 200 milligrams). Since moissanite gemstones are only slightly less heavy (lighter) than natural diamonds, the size of a natural diamond and moissanite don't differ.
For instance: A 6.50 mm round brilliant natural diamond would have a carat weight of 1.0. A moissanite of the same dimension (6.50mm) would have a carat weight of 0.88. Simply put, the weight of the two stones may be slightly different, but the millimeter size has been cut to stay the same.
In order to fit available settings, it's often easier for jewelers to order moissanite by millimeter. The specific gravity of moissanite is 3.21 grams per cubic centimeter, so a 6.50 mm round brilliant moissanite jewel is approximately 0.88 carats.

Moissanite has a color grading of DEF GH IJK, DEF Color are considered colorless by GIA standards.
The diamond color system was never intended for moissanite. However, many of our customers continue to reference diamonds when describing the color of moissanite. In short, Forever One is comparable to diamonds of D-E-F color. Forever Brilliant is G-H, and Forever Classic is I-J-K
Moissanite is a clear stone that picks up a wider range of light colors and reflections than a diamond. It can be near colorless to slightly warm, with a variety of undertones when the light hits it a certain way.

THE FOUR C’S OF MOISSANTE
Moissanite jewels have their own grading system. Similar to the four c’s of diamonds, moissanite is graded by cut, clarity, color and carat. Every moissanite gem is examined for color and inclusions by experienced GIA gemologists.
1. Cut
As a hand-faceted jewel, Moissanite is cut specifically to maximize its brilliance and create the most fire. Only master gem cutters are used to create moissanite.
2. Color
Most moissanite is near colorless, with some having undertones of green, yellow and gray. A premium quality moissanite, available only by the Forever Brilliant moissanite is up to four grades whiter, enhancing both its brightness and brilliance.
3. Carat Size
Moissanite is usually sold by size rather than weight. For instance, a 6.5mm moissanite will perfectly fit a setting that holds a one carat diamonds which will actually weight 0.88 carats
4. Clarity
During the growing process of moissanite, small inclusions can occur. Only moissanite stones that pass stringent quality standards even make it to market.
CERTIFICATE
Usually, the Moissanite stones comes with the GRA certificates. With the Certificate # inscription on the Girdle of the stones. (The inscription only can be done for the sizes of stones bigger than 4mm)

FAQ of Moissanite stones
A: Round cuts provide the most sparkle. They're cut with 58 facets that are carefully angled to reflect light back through the top of the stone, rather than allowing it to escape through the sides or bottom. Those reflective characteristics are what brings the fire and brilliance to your Moissanite ring.
A: Most people cannot tell that a moissanite is not a diamond. Maybe if you had the two side by side, a very keen observer can see that they are slightly different. Maybe you can see that the moissanite has more rainbow sparkles. Or that they have different casts of color under different lighting conditions. But even then, the casual person may not be able to say which one is which. In fact, even professionals have a hard time telling them apart, unless they use a special moissanite tester.
